The woman ‘within every form she exists’ is often the central theme of her work but she also draws men. She loves to draw people from their loving and powerful side. The cheerful, colorful illustrations often have a deeper meaning but Maite consciously decides to keep it subtle, because of that she feels that the illustrations will still be accessible for a wider audience. Maite takes most of her inspiration from West African, North African and Japanese art. But also her own group of friends and surroundings inspire her a lot.
